You’ve always seemed to be in constant motion,
aimless as a cloud seeking direction.
Will there ever be an end to this moving on?
Will there finally be a destination?
Yet you still hope and strive to, at last, find it here
after much looking around elsewhere.
Yes, you once dreamed to serve humanity,
the poorest of the poor in poverty.
But something in you and in society
convinced you of your dream’s futility.
You sought comfort in spirituality,
so tired and thirsting for tranquility.
But even that soon proved to be a bore.
Still you searched and craved for so much more.
Blame it on the damned government, you’d say.
Blow it up, beat it down, blast it away.
Ah, but while here you struggled, fought and bled,
to plush mansions abroad your komrads fled.
And so you joined the fight in the rat race
where wealth is might, you’re just a faceless face.
Though you survived, you’re still dissatisfied.
Something real and good still missing inside.
Now looking back at all that you’ve been through,
many lessons learned, wisdom earned for you:
Human justice, peace and prosperity
bloody revolutions can’t guarantee.
Might as well work and gain with dignity.
Sing your songs, write a book and plant a tree.
Cherish nature’s beauty both tame and wild
through the innocent eyes of your own child!!
